Now, obviously everyone loves the Internet, for different things like shopping, gaming, social networking, and just fun!
However, there are some people trying to ruin Internet for you. Exactly, why would they do that? You never did anything to them.
Now, these mean people (a.k.a Trolls) are people like, hackers, scammers, virtual bullies, and more. It's like billions of Malistaires!
There are ways to "defend" yourself against these as again, Trolls.
Follow these rules!
Rule #1
When someone says, "Giving out treasure cards for crowns". What do you expect? Cards? Nope, you should expect a cold hearted person who the next day has a mount, crowns pet, and armour. Yes it's mean, but that's how they are.
This is a matter of, "Don't Trust what everyone says". If someone threatens to report you because you've spotted them, speak to someone. I run a group called Honorary Detectives and we're always there to help.
Rule #2
We've all heard the expression, "You're a noob!" and most people hate it. Thing is, do you know the true definition of Noob? It's newbie, newcomer, novice. So don't take offence. Everyone starts small, but does end up big.
Rule #3
When was the last time you heard, I'm reporting you. Yes, it's a helpful tool, but most people abuse it.
Sometimes, KingsIsle or Gameforge marks this as a "false report" but most of the time, They miss it.
Obviously, the consequences are hurtful. But, ever heard of the saying "If you can't take the time, don't make the crime?" (Or something like it). Well, we all have. Now that is something which is true, especially to the trolls I mentioned earlier.
Rule #4
Never, and I mean never ever give out your personal information. Do you go outside in Downtown (or City Centre/ High Street) and say "Hey, I live at ______."? Do you? Wouldn't think so.
It's the same with online! Nothing changes, however it might be even more dangerous online than it is offline.
So once again, don't do it!
Rule #5
Are you okay? Do you feel safe? That face tells different.
If you don't feel safe online, tell an adult. Tell the police, tell your parents (make sure you tell your parents first!), tell a teacher.
But, never go away with that unsafe face. It could lurk you forever, and you would regret it.
Okay, so that's enough rules, take them seriously. They might help your life!
